George Ivey is a consultant and writer specializing in fundraising and project management to support conservation of natural resources. His current efforts focus on increasing private financial support for national parks and conserving rural lands and aquatic resources in the Southern Appalachian mountains.
George has lived in four states and traveled to two dozen more (as well as 13 foreign countries), but Western North Carolina has always been his home, from its beautiful natural areas and farmlands to its vibrant downtowns. His career has so far included everything from working on Capitol Hill to restoring rivers to raising millions of dollars for conservation and education, always with a healthy amount of professional and creative writing.
